Certified conversion
Certified conversion is one of the services we provide to our clients. It involves converting documents from paper to electronic form under Act No. 305/2013 Coll. on e-Government. Once certified conversion has been carried out, the converted document has the same legal effects as the original. Visit us at Stara Vajnorská 8 in Bratislava.
The purpose of certified conversion, within the meaning of Section 35 and the following provisions of the e-Government Act, is to enable conversion between paper and electronic forms of documents, or between electronic documents in different formats, so that the resulting document has the same legal effects and may be used for legal purposes in the same way as the original document. A document produced by certified conversion, inseparably attached to a certification clause, has the same legal effects and may be used for legal purposes in the same way as the original document.
Conversion is carried out in accordance with the procedure for certified conversion by an authorised person. Individuals and legal entities may apply for the conversion service. Under the e-Government Act, certified conversion may be carried out only by authorised persons: a public authority, an attorney-at-law, a notary, a postal operator providing a universal service if it operates an integrated service point, and a patent attorney, provided that the conversion does not concern a public document.
Certified conversion is therefore carried out as the conversion of:
- a document from electronic form to paper form,
- a document from paper form to electronic form,
- an electronic document into an electronic document in a different format.
