What people say about us

The notary was responsible for the inheritance proceedings following my grandfather’s death. He explained everything and handled the matter promptly, even though it was a more complex case. Communication and empathy were of a high standard. Later, when further information was needed for one of the banks (although the bank was mistaken, these things happen), I contacted Notary Vlha’s office and his colleagues to ask them to send me the relevant decision electronically. I had it within minutes and was able to resolve the situation. An employee of the office even offered to call the bank herself and resolve the matter. I am very grateful to her for that.

Richard Melisek

A friendly and professional approach, a convenient location and parking directly in front of the entrance. Highly recommended.

Marek Petráš

An excellent experience. I only needed to have my signature certified, but it was Saturday at lunchtime. The service was courteous and friendly, and everything was done within minutes. I’ll remember this and thank you very much.

Ronald Stoffan

At very short notice (my fault), I needed to register our civic association in the register of recipients of 2% of tax, and about 10 notaries in my area turned me away, saying they were "very busy". So I tried Bratislava and, based on the reviews, found this notary. I arranged an appointment, and he completed the registration without any problems, even though he was clearly very busy too. In addition to handling the registration, he also took the time to have a very pleasant conversation about the activities of our civic association. I will definitely come back next year. Recommended.

Tibor Pittich

Very satisfied. Prompt service, free parking right by the entrance, and open on Saturdays too.

Why a notary cannot register what they prepared themselves

Among the provisions of the new Commercial Register Act is one that may at first seem like an unnecessary complication: a notary who prepared your registration documents cannot register your matter in the Commercial Register. This rule, however, is based on a specific experience, and its purpose is to protect the very person it appears to restrict.

Transformations of commercial companies and the form of the transformation plan

The merger of two companies, the separation of part of a business or a change of legal form have been governed since 1 March 2024 by Act No. 309/2023 Coll. on Transformations of Commercial Companies and Cooperatives. This legislation brought together provisions previously scattered throughout the Commercial Code and introduced a formal requirement whose omission can disrupt the entire transaction timetable.

Notarial escrow of the purchase price when transferring a business share

Notarial escrow of money is discussed in Slovakia almost exclusively in connection with property transfers. Yet it addresses the same problem when a business share is transferred, usually involving considerably larger sums and greater uncertainty for both parties.

Advance payment for liquidation and notarial escrow

Dissolving a company today is administratively more demanding than establishing one. One of the first requirements is to deposit an advance payment for liquidation in notarial escrow, even before the company’s entry into liquidation and the identity of the liquidator are entered in the Commercial Register.

Inheritance of a business interest and succession in a company

Planning for succession is among the matters business owners put off, reasoning that there is still time. Yet one sentence in the company's articles of association and one document drawn up by a notary are enough to prevent the company from remaining in legal uncertainty for months after a shareholder's death.

Notarial record of the proceedings of a general meeting

Most general meetings proceed without difficulty, and one of the shareholders prepares the minutes. But then comes a meeting at which the shareholders disagree — and suddenly it becomes crucial who was present, how their identity was verified, how they voted and exactly what was adopted.

Power of attorney for the transfer of vehicle registration

The transfer of vehicle registration is usually attended by both the current and the new registered holder. However, this cannot always be arranged — and instead of the difficult task of finding a mutually convenient time, a power of attorney will suffice. Its requirements are stricter than most people expect, and failure to meet any one of them means that the Police Force authority will not accept the document.

Transferring vehicle registration in practice

Buying and selling a used vehicle is a common transaction today. However, the procedure for transferring a vehicle’s registration has changed so much in recent years that the process many people remember no longer applies — one of the two visits to the authority has been eliminated, the registration number stays with the vehicle, and the administrative fee is calculated in an entirely different way.
Will

Will

A deceased person’s last wishes are best respected by making a will. A will is a legal act in which the testator appoints an heir, specifies shares or determines the rights in rem to pass to the heirs. When making a will, you should bear in mind the formal requirements it must meet in order to be valid and accepted.
